Come and experience angling as you only dreamed it could be. You are in the middle of nowhere, the Alaskan Bush, and nothing but your adventure to focus on. As you head out each day to fish our waters, we would like you to be aware of several things:
The Aniak River System and its tributaries have one of the highest diversity of species in Alaska totaling eleven different species of fish. We have shared this special piece of Alaska to a select small group of fly fishers who travel the world to renowned fly fishing destinations. Once anglers experience the Aniak River, they want to return every summer.
Aniak River Lodge offers a unique lodging experience with a lower lodge, an upper-river wilderness tent camp, and a brand new mid-river lodge. Each location adds to our diverse Alaska fishing program. Our lodge and tent camp accommodations offer the comforts of home amidst the wilderness of Alaska – providing all the amenities necessary to make your fishing trip an experience of a lifetime.
Aniak River Lodge is located just outside of the small, western Alaskan town of Aniak. To get here, our guests take a short flight from Anchorage on Ravn Air that departs at 12:00 PM and arrives in Aniak by 1:30 PM. Taking this flight ensures that our guests can begin their fishing adventure that very afternoon. After arriving in Aniak our staff with take care of all your needs and transportation.
Upon your arrival in Aniak, you will be shuttled to our base lodge to meet the crew, and to enjoy some beverages and lunch. Guests can leisurely change into their waders while the crew prepares for the 25 mile trip up river to the new lodge, where you will spend the rest of the day fishing.
We have a new lodge located mid-river up the Aniak. It consists of a new main lodge building complete with a gourmet kitchen and dining room, along with 7 new spacious guest cabins. Each cabin offers more amenities than ever before. Private bathrooms with hot running water, showers, vanities, flushable toilets, daylight sitting areas in the main lodge, are just a few of the great new additions.
Enjoy a real Alaska wilderness experience without having to rough it! Our 5-star tent camp is about 40 miles upriver on the Aniak. A stay at the deluxe outpost can be the highlight of the week for our guests. In addition to hot/cold running water & excellent shower facilities; you’ll enjoy many other comforts of home. The main dining tent is a welcoming area to sit back and relax on plush couches to rehash the days catch. Here you will also find hot coffee, snacks, and a fridge full of cold sodas for the taking, as well as, outlets for charging camera batteries. Didn’t get enough time outside in the land of the Midnight Sun? Head out to the fire ring for more fish stories, and bask in the view of wild Alaska from your comfortable adirondak chair. Camp also includes a drying tent for waders, jackets etc. Our individual Weather Port tents are outfitted with real beds and linens, carpets, heaters, and offer a wonderful place to rest your head after a day of incredible fishing.
We all know that many people have different tastes, and we try to accommodate our guests with variety and options. The meals at Aniak River Lodge are as hearty as the fish stories.
